Visit the Red Kite feeding centre near Rhayader, or cycle the Elan Valley cycle trail, bikes can be hired from Clive Powell mountain bikes in Rhayader. If the weather is really abysmal visit The Cycle Museum just 100 yards away, or just enjoy our own Leisure Facilities.

See the Dragon of the Lake

During your stay ask our reception team for any spare bread we can provide for you to feed the various wild birds at the lake and see the fabulous water beast sculpture, a 5 minute walk from The Metropole Hotel.

Zip-a-dee doo-dah

On the way to the lake children can enjoy the local play park, an array of slides, swings, roundabouts, climbing frames and sail through the air on a chunky tyre zip-wire! For the energetic wheelie acrobats in the family there is a half pipe too.

Open all year a wonderful collection of miniature, rare and friendly creatures. Use the cafe or picnic in a wonderful wooly and feathery friendly atmosphere.
